2016 Tennessee Senior Olympics – Greater Nashville District

The 2016 Tennessee Senior Olympics for the Greater Nashville District took place Sept 13 – 23. Athletes competing in the district competitions will qualify to advance to the state finals, then on to the Nationals.

The Senior Games are for athletes 50 years old and up.

Ten different sports categories are included in this event.

The table tennis competition took place on September 22 at the Academy Park in Franklin, Tennessee. Senior table tennis players competed in Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles matches.

Newgy team members and friends did very well in this competition!

Mr. Joe Newgarden took home the Gold in his Singles event and also won the Gold in his Doubles event with William Baird! Coach Roger Dickson won Silver in his Singles event and won Gold in his Mixed Doubles event with Newgy friend Liliana Kohann. Kohann also won Silver in her Singles event. Jim Campbell and John Edd Walker both won first place in their Singles events for their age groups. Mary Walker won the Gold for her Singles event.
