Win a Gross Ball

Tip of the Month Winner

It’s nice that the Newgy feeds you the balls so predictably and consistency. This is a big plus to groove a stroke. However, once you achieve a certain level of proficiency, you need the feed to be less predictable to challenge you to a new level.

Some previous tips mentioned using different color balls as well as employing poor quality, not perfectly round "fun-pack" balls to make the feed different. However, the latter tip is not advised as the Owner’s Manual recommends using only 1-star or better balls.

I have accidentally discovered another way to add unpredictability—add a few new balls into the batch once in awhile. The new balls "catch" more inside the robot and thus come at you faster, spinnier, higher/lower, and/or deeper. You can also create the same result by using different brands as well as different quality balls. For example, you can mix in Nittaku Premium 3 star balls (hard, heavy), Stiga two star (soft, light), and Banda one star trainers (even softer, and lighter).

Combine the two new tricks with the different-color ball tip (and your practice sessions with Newgy will take on a brand new and refreshing dimension. Who says robot practice can’t be fun!
