The Lower Shore Table Tennis Club, in Eden, Maryland, is a program conceived and operated by the Lower Shore Parkinson’s Support Group, Inc. – a tax-exempt public charity under IRS Code Section 501 (c) (3). The fees, membership charges and donations enable them to cover operating expenses for the purpose of providing a fun and therapeutic form of exercise, through table tennis, for members of the Parkinson’s community without cost.

The LSTTC is open to the public for a per-visit “drop in” donation. Individuals with Parkinson’s disease may play for free.

This USATT affiliated club features six ping pong tables, court barriers and a Newgy Robo-Pong 2050 table tennis robot. Open play, leagues, competitions and events are offered here.

The Lower Shore Table Tennis Club is located in the Crown Sports Center at 28410 Crown Rd, Eden, MD 21822.

Table Tennis – the Ultimate Brain Sport

Table tennis not only provides many physical fitness benefits, it also helps keep your mind sharp. While you are getting a full-body cardio workout, you are also exercising your brain at the same time.

Table tennis activates different parts of your brain simultaneously and stimulates overall awareness. The unpredictability and fast pace of the game help to sharpen your alertness and decision making abilities. Throughout the game, you are constantly making split-second decisions by anticipating your opponent’s moves.

The sport also helps to improve hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills, balance and quick reflexes.

Many people appropriately describe table tennis as “aerobic chess” because it involves so much concentration and strategy.

Unlike most other sports, there is little to no risk of brain or head injuries in table tennis.

Playing table tennis can be an amazing stress reliever too!

So if you’re looking for a way to workout both your body and your brain at the same time, play table tennis!
